Accounting majors study the identification, measurement, and communication of financial information. Traditionally they begin their careers in public accounting or industrial accounting and earn their CPA certificates. In addition to public and industrial accounting, students can pursue careers in consulting, government, and many other fields. An optional Master of Science in Accounting is also available at SMU to fulfill Texas CPA requirements.
