BBA Major in Marketing

BBA Marketing Curriculum

At Cox-Marketing, our curriculum is designed to provide broad exposure to many different functions of marketing so that students are in the best position to obtain jobs in the field of their choice.  The starting point is MKTG3340 – Fundamentals of Marketing core class.  This is the best point to find out if marketing is right for the students. Those wishing to major in marketing then take two foundation courses – consumer behavior and marketing research to hone their behavioral and analytical skills. They then have a range of elective courses that comprise of functional pillar courses related to marketing mix and several proficiency courses that enables the students to specialize in areas such as retailing and sports marketing. The curriculum culminates with a capstone course – Marketing Management – that puts it all together through several current real-world cases. A recent addition to our marketing curriculum is the internship course that requires all marketing majors to have a marketing experience in a for-profit or non-profit company for at least 100 hours.  We believe this requirement will give a major boost to the students’ credentials and improve their job prospects.
