• Why did you choose to attend the Cox School?
I was specifically looking for a challenging program that would provide opportunities to take the academics learned in class and apply them to real business scenarios. Upon my visit to the school which included meetings with program reps, current students and alumni, I immediately knew that this school was for me. The culture instilled and the pride and excitement felt amongst the school was contagious. It didn't hurt either that the Cox EMBA Program is a top 10, nationally ranked graduate program.
• How has the Cox Executive MBA Program helped you to achieve your career goals?
The Executive MBA Program has instilled in me the confidence to branch out of my chosen field and take on new challenges. Having a background in Engineering, I have recently taken on a position in my company's Corporate Human Resources division. Who would have thought such a transition was possible! The opportunities provided application of what I was learning to actual business cases and helped me realize that there are no bounds to a Cox Executive MBA Education.
• What advice would you give to candidates considering the Cox Executive MBA Program?
Get ready for the time of your life! Specifically, understand that for 2 full years you will study most of your time, learn a lot and meet outstanding classmates and professors. Once in the program, take some time to take a deep breath and look around. You are amongst the best of the best. Enjoy it!
• Please add anything else that is unique to your Cox Executive MBA experience.
In the process, I have met not just classmates but lifelong friends. Despite the various job differences amongst us all, we are all striving to be better prepared to take on new challenges in our careers. The bonds built among our classmates as well as with our professors have helped me especially call upon this network for advice regarding prospective jobs, career and life in general. The experience is not just about going to school and studying, but about how to humbly learn from others and give just as much in return.
