Corporate Governance at the KPMG Institute
In 2004, the Cox School opened the KPMG Institute for Corporate Governance, which focuses on the importance of corporate structure and communication channels in business organizations. Through close working relationships with many companies, the institute will develop multidisciplinary case studies and courses that explore corporate governance and ethical decision making, preparing students to understand the choices they make and how those choices impact the market’s perception of a firm and its future.
The institute is made possible by an alliance with KPMG, the global professional services firm providing audit, tax, and advisory services. In addition, the AT&T Foundation has made a grant to support development of corporate ethics and governance curricula in the new KPMG Institute for Corporate Governance. The courses developed through this grant will serve graduate and Executive Education students at Cox.
Dr. Wayne Shaw, Cox professor of Accounting and the Helmut Sohmen Distinguished Professor of Corporate Governance, heads the institute. For more information, please contact Dr. Wayne Shaw at 214-768-3053 or e-mail him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
