SMU Cox e-Newsletter

Fall 2010

SMU Cox Welcomes Fall with Record Enrollment, World-Class Speakers and exciting football on the Hilltop.

Fall has brought a flurry of brisk weather and excitement to SMU Cox. In August, we set new enrollment records when we welcomed 1,482 freshmen to SMU. As for graduate school, the Cox School now has more than 1,000 students enrolled in our programs, thus demonstrating the growing reputation of our programs. In fact, for the first time, our highly-ranked full-time MBA program drew 154 students to campus. Meanwhile, Executive and Professional MBA programs also enjoyed burgeoning classrooms.

Meanwhile, SMU Cox will host several thought-provoking conferences and speakers who bear tremendous impact on our business world. Wednesday, September 29, the monthly Management Briefing Series Luncheon, sponsored by Ernst & Young, presents Jim Moroney, Publisher and CEO, Dallas Morning News. On October 8, The O’Neil Center for Global Markets and Freedom presents, “Reviving Economic Freedom in America,” a conference featuring renowned business leaders and influencers who will address current economic policies and their impact on taxes, health care, economic growth and the nation’s future. On October 13, legendary oilman Ray Hunt, chairman and CEO of Hunt Oil Company will speak at the Business Leaders Spotlight series, sponsored by Bank of Texas. Football season is finally here and the SMU Mustangs are kicking the season off strong. Show your spirit and be sure to attend the dean’s tailgate party on the boulevard. Tailgates begin two hours before kick-off for each home game.
