Run for a Cause - SMU Cox Teams Up to Benefit Local Children's Hospital
For the challenge, corporate relay teams consisting of five persons each participated in the full marathon relay. Winning relay teams in a variety of categories shared a purse of more than $30,000 in prize money, which was given directly to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is one of the nation's leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions. There is no charge to patient families for treatment at the hospital.

The American Airlines Global Leadership Program (AAGLP) celebrates its 11th year with visits to Vietnam, Tokyo and Korea. The AAGLP is a year-long experience for all full-time Cox MBA students, culminating in a two-week trip to different regions throughout world and a symposium upon their return to campus. In 2009, four groups of students traveled to Europe, China (also Taiwan) and India to gain firsthand knowledge of the global marketplace. Ho Chi Minh City, Seoul, and Tokyo have been scheduled to take place this academic year. Cox Graduate Students Learn the Disney Approach Through a partnership with the Disney Institute, 27 Cox graduate students traveled to Orlando for five intensive days learning Disney leadership theories and best business practices from both a strategic and tactical perspective. The specific focus of the program was on creating and sustaining a service culture. Students learned the Disney approach and how it can be applied to virtually any business or industry.
