Is work experience required for admission to the full-time MBA program? How do you calculate months of work experience?
Full time post-baccalaureate work experience is calculated up until the time of enrollment. Cox will consider applications with less than two years of post-baccalaureate experience provided the quality of the work experience is competitive with the other applicants in our program. Work experience does not need to be business based and can include areas such as military, teaching, Peace Corps, etc. Applicants for the Cox MBA Direct program, however, do not need to have full-time work experience but should have internships, co-ops or other significant professional work during college.
Do internships and part-time jobs count as work experience?
The Admissions Committee only reports full time post-baccalaureate work in the statistics. However, all work experience is considered in the evaluation of your application including professional internships, co-op assignments and volunteer work.
Do I need to submit a resume?
A resume is required as part of the application. The Admissions Committee recommends submitting a resume which outlines your career progression and highlights significant non-professional accomplishments. We do not have a required resume format or length, but we encourage candidates to follow general professional guidelines.
