Academic Concentrations

The Cox MBA Program allows full-time students to choose up to two academic concentrations.  All MBA students are initially enrolled in the General Business concentration, which enables students to take courses across all of the academic offerings.  Students will be given the opportunity to declare up to two concentrations when they enter the program, or remain in the General Business concentration to give them the most flexibility for course scheduling.

Each SMU MBA concentration consists of a set of core business courses and additional concentration-specific components. Concentrations and specializations are offered in the different disciplines listed below. Current students should check the current student pages for degree requirements, which are based on the year/term of entry to SMU.

Watch videos of SMU Cox Department Chairs explaining their respective concentrations by selecting the appropriate department.
