KEY TO ACCESS
The Business Library at the Cox School of Business serves current SMU students, faculty, staff and alumni. The facility does not serve the general public. If you have questions, please contact the Business Library.
[EZ] EZ Proxy software authenticates access for any SMU student, faculty member, or staff member who has current status. After selecting one of these resources, enter your 8-digit SMU ID number and password (or your last name and 14-digit SMU ID barcode number). Use EZ Proxy for mobile access - anytime, anywhere.
[VPN] These databases do not accept the EZ method of authentication. They are accessible only when the vendor's software detects an SMU IP address, which is available by setting up a VPN (high speed broadband) connection. Using the VPN connection from off campus generally eliminates the need for EZ authentication for EZ databases as well. To set up a VPN, follow these steps:
Go to https://securenet.smu.edu and login with your Access SMU 8-digit Username and Password. From the left-side menu, click the AnyConnect client link to download that software, following the on-screen instructions. Once the session is established, all traffic is tunneled through the VPN connection, allowing you to go directly into most databases. When you are finished with your VPN session, disconnect by clicking on the icon in the taskbar, which is located in the lower right corner of your screen. Once you have downloaded the program, anytime you want to use the AnyConnect VPN: open it, supply your password and then open the desired databases from your Internet browser. (More VPN information.)
[RESTRICTED] These resources are restricted to current SMU students, faculty, and staff. Certificate students and alumni do not have permission to use these resources.
[IN LIBRARY ONLY] These resources are available only from a Business Library computer and are not accessible via wireless connections.
[COX ONLY] These resources are available only within the Cox School of Business facilities and are accessible via wireless connections.
