The BBA Career Services office is an extension of the SMU Hegi Family Career Development Center and serves the undergraduate students of the Cox School of Business and the 5th year accounting students pursuing their MSA degree. For assistance recruiting MBAs, please contact the MBA Career Management Center.
Recruiting Cox Undergraduates The SMU Cox School of Business is recognized annually as one of the top undergraduate programs in the country. To help you find the most qualified candidates for your full-time or internship position, we offer several recruiting options such as a tailored e-mail job announcement service, web-site postings, on-campus interviewing, career fairs, etc. In addition, we can recommend other campus resources to help you network and connect with Cox undergraduates. You are welcome to view the most recent salary data for undergraduates, as well as national information.
Due to the number of students we serve (approximately 1,200 BBAs to include sophomores, juniors, and seniors and 45 MSA's), we utilize a web-based system known as MustangTRAK to manage communication with our students regarding job opportunities and career related events. Students must register in the system in order to learn of internship and full time job opportunities and to participate in on-campus recruiting.
INTERNSHIP INFORMATION: An internship is defined as a career-related learning experience that provides exposure and skill development in an occupation and/or industry. Internships may be completed in the Summer, Fall, or Spring. The average internship salary is $8-$12 per hour for 10-20 hours per week during the academic year, and 20-40 hours per week in the summer. Over 90% of the internships we receive are paid opportunities, although internships can be paid or on a volunteer basis. The Cox School of Business does grant one hour of "class credit" for either paid or unpaid internships. The BBA Academic Advising office manages the course registration and approval process. It’s the students’ responsibility to register for the course and provide you the necessary documents. To learn more about the requirements and responsibilities of the employer, contact Kimberly Bright, Director of BBA Academic Advising, 214-768-3010 or kbright@cox.smu.edu.
