ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

American Airlines Global Leadership Program

In 2000, the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at SMU launched the American Airlines® Global Leadership Program, a partnership with over 90 leading businesses and government organizations throughout Asia, Latin America, and Europe. This one-on-one, interactive program offers students an edification unsurpassed by any other business school in the world.

Your first semester begins with a comprehensive study of the culture, politics, and business of your region of choice. At the end of the second semester and in advance of your summer internship, you and a select group of students travel to the region for a two-week, hands-on immersion into global commerce and culture.

Here you will sit face-to-face with top-level executives from international to discuss policies and best practices. You will also visit with government officials and visit historical sites that have contributed to the very essence of each country's culture. This kind of intimate exposure and communication is educational, energizing, and rare, and will serve to expand your perspectives on the global economy.

Upon returning to campus, you and your team will prepare an extensive report and present your findings to a public symposium attended by a broad spectrum of Dallas-based international business executives. This event is cosponsored by American Airlines, Wells Fargo, Brinker International Inc., and Tog and Allison George.
