SMU Cox is a nationally ranked program where you can study abroad, gain valuable team-building experience in the Business Leadership Institute, and get invaluable mentoring and networking exposure through the Business Associates Program. In addition, our diverse social programs give you the opportunity to openly exchange ideas, develop concepts, and test theories with peers who will challenge you and, in the process, help you to become a better leader.

Nearly one-third of SMU undergraduate students take advantage of the opportunity to study abroad in either one-year, semester, or summer programs. Learning from senior SMU faculty as well as European and Asian/Pacific Rim scholars, participants can study in countries such as Australia, Great Britain, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Spain, and Taiwan. This unique educational experience allows you to immerse yourself in the local culture while expanding your perspectives and building a foundation for understanding global business.

Taught by business professionals, the Business Leadership Institute is where academic theory and real-world experience converge. Employers look for strong leadership and communications skills. In the BLI, you move beyond the textbook and receive specialized team-building training that gives you a distinct advantage over candidates from other schools.

Guiding you through the Business Associates Program will be a business professional selected to lead you through the transition from college to work by giving you direction and advice few students outside SMU Cox receive. As a participant in the BAP, you will rub elbows with an elite group of 100 plus business leaders from some of the most prominent companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Executives serving as our mentors can provide you with contacts, career advice and industry insight that only experienced professionals can offer. It is easy to see how valuable this program can be to the advancement of your career.
