COX INTRANET

Laptop Hardware Recommendations
Laptops are now required for all Cox students. Graduate students may also wish to purchase a desktop computer for home use. There are two sets of specifications. One is a minimum specification which denotes a basic hardware configuration which our experience has shown will meet the needs of most users. The other is an upgraded configuration that has several options, which our experience has shown that many students find desirable. The hardware specifications are not a requirement by Cox. Instead, they are suggested minimum standards. However, regardless of your hardware, some software may be required by Cox if you wish to operate the computer on the Cox network. The software is required in order to prevent any given computer from causing problems on the network or being a cause for alarm for other users of the network.
You may also wish to review our list of recommended accessories. While none of the accessories are required, many students have found some or all of these items to be useful.
