Business & Company Resource Center This database covers the industry in some detail. Advanced search allows search by SIC and NAICS codes which allows easy narrowing of the search. The industry overview includes both national and international information.

Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice (National Association of Realtors) This is a detailed code.

Hoovers The database covers numerous facets of the real estate industry including companies involved in construction, finance, and investment.

Housing and Urban Development (HUD) The Department's web site provides a wide arrary of information for citizens and the industry.

LexisNexis Statistical This database contains hundreds of tables that cross-cut the industry both nationally and internationally and is a good source of aggregate statistics.

Statistics The USA.GOV website, assembled by the U.S. General Services Administration, brings together a number of important governmental statistical sources relevant to real estate.

Real Estate Assessment Center This is a portal that provides access to essential information about real estate holdings of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as well as access to online tools and processes of the Department.

Real Estate Economics This journal provides the results of scholarly research in the areas of Economics; Business; Real Estate; Accounting & Tax; Banking, and Finance & Insurance.

Building and Industry Data Center (BIDC) A wide variety of data on building permits, home ownership and the real estate market are available through these web links. This site is a service of the state of Texas.

Construction Statistics Data is available at this U.S. Census Bureau site for all types of residential construction.

Data Resources Geospatial and demographic data useful for real estate and other business professionals from Grant Thrall.

Real Estate Firms This Census Bureau link leads to aggregate information about real estate firms and their revenue.

Texas Real Estate Center The A&M site provides publications and pulls together data relevant to the current Texas real estate market from a variety of sources.  Visit the publications tab and the data tab for in-depth information about markets, trends, and useful tables.

Texas Residential MLS Housing Activity This data is provided through the Texas A&M Real Estate Center.

Bloomberg database Use Bloomberg equities search to locate REIT company profiles and performance data. (Bloomberg users must access a dedicated terminal within the Business Information Center)

National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) NAREIT represents those who own income-producing real estate. There is useful information about indexes and current regulatory actions on the site.

Appraisal Institute Provides research resources, training and support for appraisers worldwide.

National Association of Realtors This is the primary assocation for realtors and represents the profession to external agencies and the government. The website provides useful info about current market trends and tracks the housing market.

National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers Membership in this association is composed of organizations and individual involved in capitalizing real estate investment.

National Multi Housing Council The council is composed of participants in the apartment rental industry. Useful data about market conditions and issue advocacy is available.

Urban Land Institute The Institute is multidisciplinary and provides a variety of programs, including research, publication, and education to foster wise development of urban spaces. An associated foundation offers fellowships and scholarships to students in real estate fields.
