BBA Career Services Overview This site explains the services that are available to Cox BBA students. BBA Career Services maintains a section of books in the BIC on a wide-variety of career topics. Ask a BIC staff member to direct you to this useful collection.
Career Development e-Manual The University of Waterloo has developed this step-by-step guide through the entire career planning process.
Career Management Center (CMC) This site explains the services available to Cox MBA students. The CMC offers several MBA career search databases (CareerBeam, Vault, and WetFeet) via their Web site; contact the Career Management Center for additional information. The Career Management Center also maintains a room in the BIC with books and other print materials to assist MBA students in their career development. Ask a BIC staff member to direct you to this useful collection.
Getting the job you really want: a step-by-step guide to finding a good job in less time (NetLibrary) by J. Michael Farr. This award-winning book "presents approaches that have been proven to help people identify career possibilities...and proven methods to reduce the time it takes to find a job."
Texas Job Hunter's Guide The Texas Workforce Commission has created an easy to follow step-by-step guide for all aspects of career planning and job searching.

Career Guide to Industries Produced by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this source "provides information on available careers by industry, including the nature of the industry, working conditions, employment, occupations in the industry, training and advancement, earnings and benefits, employment outlook, and lists of organizations that can provide additional information."
Career One Stop "Operating as a federal-state partnership, and funded by grants to states," this site provides "wage and employment trends, occupational requirements, state-by-state labor markets, millions of employer contacts, and more."
Careers-in-Business This site covers jobs, salaries, what people are saying and entry requirements for various business career areas.
Occupational Outlook Handbook Produced by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Handbook "describes what workers do on the job, working conditions, the training and education needed, earnings, and expected job prospects in a wide range of occupations."
O*NET Online (Occupational Information Network) Use O*NET OnLine to search
for occupations that use designated skills, view occupation summaries and details, and find salary information.
WetFeet Insider Guide to Careers in... (NetLibrary) - Books are available for a wide-variety of career areas such as accounting, investment banking, marketing, and venture capital. Search on the titles' initial phrase in PONI to access these e-books. (SMU Community Only)
What Can I Do With A Major In...? Created by the University of North Carolina Wilmington, this page offers lists of job titles and links to appropriate organizations for a variety of college majors.

College Journal This site, produced by the Wall Street Journal, contains articles geared toward students on topics such as salaries, career paths, job hunting and success at work. There is a link to the Career Journal where resumes can be posted and jobs are listed.
College Grad Job Hunter This site contains information about resumes, interview
prep, salaries, and other topics. It also provides job postings specifically for entry-level and internship
positions.
JobWeb: Career Development and Job-Search Advice for New College Graduates The National Association of Colleges and Employers provides articles on topics such as how to make the most of a career fair and how to determine an appropriate salary and benefits as well as basics like interviewing and resume writing.
The Riley Guide This site features access to a large number of job posting sites and articles on networking and doing research to support a job search.

Hoover's Online Use this database to learn more about a company before you go on an interview. Provides information on competitors, subsidiaries, company history, people, and financials. Also provides access to the company's Web site, another great source of information. Use Hoover's Build a List to select criteria to narrow your job search by location, company size or type, industry, and other criteria to match interests.(SMU Community Only)

Associations can be an excellent source of information concerning your chosen profession. They often provide a list of job openings that are specific for that profession and offer networking opportunities.
Associations Unlimited Search for information by association name, location, or keywords. Find contact information and web addresses for 106,000 regional, 22,000 national, and 23,000 international organizations. (SMU Community Only)
WEDDLE's Association Directory This directory "lists several thousand associations from around the world by their primary professional/occupational focus and/or industry of interest and provides a link to the Web site they operate." Web site updated every two years with publication of print version.
