Planning Your Campus Visit

Prior to Your Visit

Schedule your on-campus visit with the CMC:

  • Submit position descriptions to the CMC at least 30 days in advance of the interview date.
  • Finalize any catering support requirements at least 72 hours prior to the event date.
  • Submit names of pre-selected candidates for interview at least four (4) working days prior to scheduled interview date.
  • The final interview schedule will be prepared by the CMC and E-mailed or faxed to you twenty-four (24) hours prior to the interview date.

The Day of Your Visit

Arrival:
We recommend that you arrive approximately one half-hour prior to your first interview so that you can settle into your room and prepare your materials. You will be provided a Recruiters’ Packet which will include your interviewing schedule for the day, the resumes of the students you will be meeting, and an information sheet including a feedback form which we ask that you complete at the end of the day.

Location: All interviews, unless otherwise directed, are conducted in the interviewing suite located adjacent to the MBA Career Management Center, Room 146 in the Fincher Building at the Cox School of Business. Please stop by our offices when you arrive to register and pick up your Recruiters’ Packet.

Schedules: You can customize your interviewing schedule to suit your firms needs choosing 30, 45, or 60 minute interviewing options.

Refreshments: We have complimentary coffee, soft drinks and water available in the MBA Career Management Center Lounge. Light snacks are available in the Snack Bar immediately adjacent to the interviewing suite. If your schedule permits, we would be happy to visit with you during lunch, or if you prefer, we can order in box lunches for your convenience.

Recruiters’ Lounge: Our offices include a lounge reserved exclusively for recruiters which contains a telephone, table and chairs, and a refrigerator and sink for your use.

Visiting the Career Management Center:

The Cox School of Business is located on the northeast quadrant of the Southern Methodist University campus at the corner of Mockingbird and Hillcrest in Dallas. The SMU campus is easily accessible from all major highways in Dallas and from the airports. Please see the maps below.

Location: The MBA Career Management Center is located on the 1st floor of the Fincher Building, Room 146.

Parking: Parking is available in the visitors’ lot adjacent to the Fincher Building as indicated in the map below.

From Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport:

  • Take north airport exit.
  • Go east on Highway 114 until it merges with Route 35E South.
  • Exit at Mockingbird Lane and turn left off the ramp.
  • Follow Mockingbird lane to Bishop Boulevard (approx. 4 miles)
  • Turn left onto Bishop Boulevard.
