Admissions Process
Admission to the Cox MSM program is highly selective. The Admissions Committee evaluates candidates based on the following criteria:
- Successful completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Sufficient personal commitment and motivation to succeed in graduate study
- Leadership potential within your respective sector
- Desire to speak the language of business and gain management skills
Successful applicants typically have several years of full-time work experience, a strong undergraduate academic record, and a desire to participate in an academically rigorous program. Applicants should be computer literate, with basic understanding of e-mail, the Internet, and spreadsheets.
Application Process/Checklist
Your application, supporting documents, and personal interview are very important in the selection process. After candidate applications are completed, submitted and reviewed by the Cox MSM Admissions Committee, evaluative interviews are conducted by invitation only.
Your complete application will contain the following components:
- Application Form
- Cover letter with résumé addressed to the MSM Admissions Committee
- Essays (Two are required, though you may submit a third optional essay to address issues not covered in required essays.)
- Official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate coursework completed (If applicable, transcripts also are required from courses taken at community colleges or other institutions not granting your degree.)
- Two professional letters of recommendation
- Non-refundable application fee of $75
- If applicable, TOEFL scores for non-U.S. citizens/permanent residents
Submission of GMAT or GRE scores may be required of candidates at the discretion of the Cox MSM Admissions Committee. The Cox MSM Admissions Committee strongly encourages you to use our online application.
While we can accept unofficial copies of scores and transcripts, if offered admission Cox, you are required to submit official transcripts and test scores within 30 days. Cox reserves the right to rescind an offer of admission should any misrepresentation occur.
