Professional MBA Electives: The Choice Is Yours
SMU Cox is one of a select group of business schools that offers you concentrations within an MBA Program for working professionals. Whether finance or marketing, strategy or entrepreneurship, operations or information technology, or four other areas of concentrations, the PMBA gives you the flexibility to concentrate in at least one subject area of your choice. Rather than a rigid, fixed curriculum, you will take 14 or more elective courses in your chosen area(s) of concentration. Not only will you have a sound foundation in business fundamentals, but you'll gain deep expertise in your chosen functional area(s).
Elective courses are offered once a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings or Saturday morning, and may be taken on either campus. Most of the electives are offered in modular format (half term), and each module is two-credit hours. For part-time students, one elective with an international business focus is required. If you would like to study abroad while earning elective credit, the program offers trips to China, France, and Germany.
Summer hours may differ. Curriculum is subject to change. Students will be notified of changes once they are approved and implemented by the Cox School of Business Faculty.
