Cox MBA Direct
The Cox School of Business is offering a unique opportunity for college seniors that have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and professional part-time work experience through internships, co-op, or other experiences. Cox MBA Direct will offer admission with the opportunity to enter the Cox MBA program in the fall immediately after graduation.
Program Features
Pre-MBA Prep
Scheduled the week before orientation, this meeting is designed to provide an introduction to the Cox MBA Direct program and prepare you for the transition from an undergraduate to graduate program. Topics will include: graduate classroom expectations, career planning requirements, and expectations, Business Leadership Center requirements, and mentoring.
Business Leadership Center (BLC) Professional Development
As a Cox MBA Direct participant, you are required to complete a minimum of five BLC workshops in your first semester. Suggested seminars will be presented in the Pre-MBA Prep meeting.
Career Development and Planning
Career planning and preparation is an integral part of the Cox MBA Direct program. You are expected to meet with your assigned career counselor on a regular basis and complete all requirements as outlined in your personal plan. This will include resume review, mock interviews, career research report, and other items as assigned.
Admission Requirements and Scholarship Information
Cox MBA Direct applicants complete the regular Cox MBA admissions process. Cox MBA Direct students are eligible for merit scholarship consideration if they meet the March 3 scholarship consideration deadline. Scholarships are considered during the application review process.
Eligibility, When to Apply, and Deadlines
Applicants must graduate no later than July 31 for enrollment in August and should apply during the last semester of their senior year. The application deadline for Cox MBA Direct is June 1; applications will be accepted after this date but space and scholarships may be limited. If a candidate applies and is admitted prior to college graduation, any admissions decision will be considered provisional until the final transcript showing degree earned has been submitted to the Full-Time MBA Admissions Office.
The Cox MBA Direct program is highly competitive. The admissions committee will be looking for candidates with exceptional academic backgrounds and strong GMAT performance along with multiple substantive professional experiences while in school. These experiences may include summer internships, co-ops, professional part-time work or consulting projects as part of a class requirement. A limited number of candidates will be accepted through this program each year.
As a Cox MBA Direct participant, you are required to complete a professional development program designed to prepare you for the graduate classroom and the competitive job market. This program is designed to narrow the employment gap between you and the average Cox MBA student with five years of post-undergraduate work experience. The Cox School wants to ensure that you have the best opportunities available upon graduation.
