The Strategy and Entrepreneurship concentration offers you the strategies, tactics, and hands-on learning experiences necessary to build and manage your own business while coping with the uncertainties of the marketplace. If you choose this concentration, you will benefit from the Cox School’s Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship. Since 1972, the Caruth Institute has continuously developed innovative MBA courses and programs to keep pace with the rapidly evolving field of entrepreneurship. Cox’s entrepreneurship program is ranked #5 in the nation by Entrepreneur magazine.

 

In the Venture Capital Practicum, you’ll gain hands-on venture capital experience while applying the skills you developed in Finance, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship courses. Students partner with local venture capital firms and meet weekly outside of class to identify, qualify, analyze, and present recommendations regarding prospective investments for the Cox MBA Venture Fund. Acceptance to the course is competitive and based on submitted applications.
