Executive MBA Admissions Criteria

The SMU Cox EMBA Program admits women and men who can comprise a diverse and experienced class of individuals who have achieved significant business success. SMU Cox seeks individuals with a desire to achieve, to learn, and to prepare themselves for greater challenges. It is these highly motivated candidates whose experiences and successes will allow them to contribute to and benefit from the EMBA Program.

Admissions Requirements

Strong candidates for the Executive MBA Program should:

• Have 8 years of work experience with the majority in mid to upper management
• Currently occupy mid to senior level management or ownership position
• Be committed to completing a graduate level management education over a 21-month period

Application Elements

In addition to basic personal information, the Executive MBA Application requires the following elements:

• Two essays within online application
• Complete resume and Cover letter
• Official transcripts for all college work
• Two recommendation letters, one from immediate manager of your company; one from someone who knows you well professionally 

GMAT not required.
