Assessment Objectives

The culmination of the Leading Tomorrow's Business Program is a final project that participants will complete on an individual basis. The objective of this project is to help practicing managers discover, crystallize, and apply concepts learned from the Program in a short, well-defined paper. Participants demonstrate their learning and growing ability to think about key strategic and organizational issues from a broader cross-functional, systemwide perspective. Sample topics include the following:

  • Designing reward systems that promote cross-unit cooperation and coordinatino of activities,
  • The impact of new IT investments on communication and knowledge-sharing within the organization,
  • The strategic, organizational, and functional requirements to enter new markets and to create new products,
  • How outsourcing impacts the firm's ability to build and renew internal sources of competitive advantage,
  • The growing use of virtual communication technologies and their impact on the workplace,
  • How leadership styles can vary across national and corporate cultures.
