EXECUTIVE EDUCATION

If your company is looking for ways it can give back to the community, here are a few volunteer ideas. Perhaps you can find one that fits your company.
- Literacy & Learning
Reading is an important skill to succeed. You can volunteer to act as a tutor or donate used books to any literacy program. You can probably find one at your public library.
- Tutoring & Mentoring
Tutors and mentors are vital to children's education. Some schools have tutoring programs in place, but tutoring is still an option for those schools without such programs.
- Homeless Shelters
Most homeless shelters welcome volunteers and have a variety of programs where you can get involved -- especially around the holidays.
- Parks
Many city and state parks offer volunteer programs where you can volunteer to clean up trash, plant flowers or trees, build trails, or participate in educational programs
- Environmental Organizations
Numerous environmental groups encourage volunteer support to help with environmental activities.
- Build Homes
Habitat for Humanity builds and gives houses to poor people in local communities. Volunteers not only help others but can learn a great deal about building houses by getting involved.
- Hospitals
Many hospitals have volunteer programs to help patients both inside and outside the hospital. Contact local hospitals to learn more about opportunities in your area.
- Disaster Relief Organizations
Volunteers are extremely vital during times of disaster.
