Faculty

Kym Sosolik, M.A., is director of leadership and organizational development for SMU Cox Executive Education. She is certified to consult and deliver Lominger International’s competency-based “Human Resource Suites the Emotional Competence Inventory” and the Climate Improvement Accreditation.” She is also a qualified administrator of the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator and a Texas-certified dispute resolver. Before joining SMU Cox, Sosolik was director of management development and training for PDI Inc., a diversified sales and marketing services provider to the biomedical and pharmaceutical industries. Earlier in her career, she held positions as director of a proprietary health career educational school, pharmaceutical sales representative and medical technologist. She holds a bachelor of science degree in medical technology from Midwestern State University and a master of arts degree in organizational leadership from Dallas Baptist University.

Marsha Clark, M.S., is the founder and owner of Marsha Clark & Associates, an organizational development consulting firm. As a consultant, Clark focuses chiefly on change management, leadership development, performance management, executive coaching, meeting facilitation and keynote speaking. Clients have included Accenture, BMC Software, Bell Helicopter, JP Morgan Chase, Fidelity Investments, IBM, Microsoft and Texas Instruments. Before founding her firm in 2000, Clark held executive positions with EDS—including corporate vice president and assistant to the chief operating officer—working in the areas of strategic alliances, performance management, and account operations improvement. She also served as director of the EDS Employee Development Program. Clark holds a master of science degree in organizational development from American University in Washington, D.C.

Rita Bailey is founder and chief executive officer of QVF Partners Ltd., a consulting firm that helps organizations and individuals create people-focused cultures and relationships. As an international speaker and consultant, Bailey has presented to groups in Europe, Mexico, Brazil and Australia on people-success strategies, leadership, innovation, culture, branding, customer service and other topics. Before founding her own firm, she worked for Southwest Airlines for 24 years, holding positions focused on employee development. As director of Southwest's University for People, Bailey and her team created leadership, career development and professional/personal programs for more than 32,000 employees. She holds a bachelor of science degree in business from the University of Texas in El Paso.

Jerry E. Magar is director of performance improvement at SMU and an adjunct faculty member for the Cox School of Business, where he teaches organizational development and change. As lead faculty for several SMU Executive Education leadership-development programs, he works with numerous oil and gas clients, including Merit Energy, Pioneer Natural Resources and Spectra Energy. Magar has more than 20 years of experience in individual and organizational consulting. In addition to his role at SMU, he’s a founding partner of People Systems Consulting Group, where he works with clients of all sizes, including Dell Computer, JP Morgan Chase, Lucent Technologies, Shell Oil and Southwest Airlines. His areas of experience include leadership development, strategic planning, interpersonal communications, change management, marketing, public relations and business development. Magar holds certification and master certification for more than 25 programs and assessment instruments and has certified hundreds of trainers and educators across North America. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in speech communication from Texas A&M University.
