In this session we will explore ways that investors can outperform commonly accepted benchmarks such as the S&P 500. We will learn that stock prices do not always conform to a "random walk" and that there are certain types of predictability in stock prices.
Investing in Real Estate
How to compute expected after tax cash flows and returns for income property investments. Also, a description of property financial ratios, multipliers, and rates of return.
Issuing Securities to the Public
Basic procedures for new issues, alternative issue methods, the cash offer, new equity issues and the value of the firm, the cost of issuing securities, rights, dilution and self registration.
Implementing Value Maximization
Review salient features of traditional valuation models (method of comparables, discounted cash flows, and APV), highlighting estimation techniques and recommendations for decision making.
Conclusion
We will spend the evening working a case that is intended to pull together the various threads that have been developed over the course of the program.
