GRADUATE AND EXECUTIVE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

Dr. Wayne H. Shaw is the Helmut Sohmen Distinguished Professor of Corporate Governance at the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. In addition, he serves as Director of the KPMG Institute on Corporate Governance at SMU. 

Dr. Shaw taught at Cornell University and the University of Colorado at Boulder prior to joining the faculty of SMU. Before entering academics, Dr. Shaw worked for the Internal Revenue Service and was employed as a tax law specialist for A.M. Pullen & Co. CPAs.

Dr. Shaw has been involved in the development and presentation of training materials for major corporate and not-for-profit entities such as the National Association of Corporate Directors, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs & Co., Greyhound, WorldCom, Texas Instruments, ClubCorp, and the VHA. 

Catherine D. Weber, an attorney and mediator, is a Senior Lecturer in Business Law at the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. 

Ms. Weber developed and teaches the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy approved ethics course for candidates for the Master of Science in Accounting program. Ms. Weber has also developed courses for and teaches in the Executive MBA, Professional MBA and BBA programs. She has received numerous teaching awards and is a member of Who's Who in Business Higher Education. Before entering academia, Ms. Weber practiced law in the areas of taxation and bankruptcy.

In addition to other professional activities, Ms. Weber has been a member of the Judging Committee for the Greater Dallas Business Ethics Award, given by the Society of Financial Services Professionals, for the past six years and is currently serving as chairperson of the Committee.
