Launched in 1999, the Cox MBA Venture Fund is an actual venture fund that allows Cox MBA students enrolled in Caruth's Venture Capital Practicum course to gain practical knowledge about venture funding and firsthand experience analyzing and selecting venture interests.
In the spring of 2002, a pair of Cox MBA students identified the first promising investment, mysedan. Since the fund's inception, more than 40 students have taken the Venture Capital Practicum, evaluating over 20 deals, four of which were approved for funding.
