Bob Puelz is the Dexter Professor of Risk Management and Insurance in Cox and a member of the Real Estate, Insurance and Business Law faculty. He holds a B.S. and M.A. degrees from the
University of
Nebraska and a Ph.D. from the
University of
Georgia.
While he presently teaches courses in corporate finance, corporate risk management and principles of insurance he has taught a variety of courses over the years on the topics of life insurance, commercial property & liability insurance, employee benefits and social insurance.
Research has focused on a variety of topics from information problems in insurance economics to the effect of legal rules in tort incidents to entrepreneurship. His work has been published in the Journal of Legal Studies, the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Risk and Insurance, and the Journal of Risk and Uncertainty.
At Cox since 1992, he has linked the intersection of theory and practice through his involvement in the
Dallas business community. He is associated with Robert Hughes Associates (www.roberthughes.com) where he has consulted on issues surrounding Lloyds of London, insurance agency valuation, life insurance contract interpretation and insurance business standards and practices.
