Johan Sulaeman, assistant professor of finance, joined the Cox School
upon the completion of his Ph.D. which he received from the McCombs
School at the University of Texas, Austin. He received his masters of
financial engineering (MFE) from the Haas School at the University of
California, Berkeley, and his BSE in computer engineering from the
University of Michigan.
Dr. Sulaeman's research interests include institutional investors,
mutual funds, security issuance, capital allocation, corporate
governance and labor economics. His research has been presented at
leading conferences including the American Finance Association
conference and Western Finance Association conference, and at several
prominent Universities. His paper on institutional investor won the Xia
Yihong Best Paper Award which honors outstanding research by a young
financial economist. He has taught Business Finance and Advanced
Financial Management courses at the Undergraduate level.
