Experience:

Brian is a Director and Head of Equity Investments at PanAgora Asset Management, the quantitative division of Putnam Investments in Boston. He is responsible for a team of 20 portfolio managers who oversee almost $20 billion in equity assets. Additionally, he is a member of the firm's Management Committee.

Prior to joining PanAgora, Brian was both a professor at Southern Methodist University's Cox Business School and founder of the Dana Investment Advisors equity division in Dallas.  Previous to that he was President and Chief Investment Officer of InterCoast Global Management.  Prior jobs included Vice President at State Street Global Advisors, where he was responsible for global asset allocation and equity management, and Director of Quantitative Global Equity at The Northern Trust Company.

Editing and Scholarly Writing:

Brain has written or edited eight books and written over 25 articles on investing including the recent Analysts, Lies and Statistics which he co-authored with Dr. Mark Bradshaw an accounting professor at Harvard Business School.  In addition, he is Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Investing and the Journal of Trading, on the Board of Editors and Founding Editor of Journal of Behavioral Finance, and on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Practical Financial Economics and Alternative Perspectives on Finance and Accounting. 

Brian was Visiting Professor of Investments at Baylor University and an adjunct professor at Brandeis University.  He is Vice President of the Association of Student Managed Portfolios an was a columnist for Texas Business in the late 1990's.  Brian is frequently interviewed by NBC, ABC, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Financial Times, Business Week, Bloomberg
