  Course Description:  
   
 

This course examines the tools and concepts that form the core of modern finance theory with an emphasis on practical applications. Topics include risk measurement and the investor’s portfolio optimization problem, asset pricing models, riskadjusted discount rates, investment under uncertainty, capital structure theory, firm valuation,and an introduction to options pricing. This course may be taken concurrently with FINA 6211, but must be taken before all other Finance electives.
