This course will cover a broad range of topics pertaining to corporate financial risk management, using a combination of lectures and case studies to provide a rigorous yet thoroughly applied perspective on the topics covered.  The focus will be on the financial risk faced by corporations arising from the price volatility of risk factors such as commodities, currencies and interest rates -- what it is; how it's assessed; whether it should be managed; and how it should be managed.  Students will be introduced to the standard toolkit of financial risk management instruments -- forwards, futures, options and swaps -- and to related topics such as default risk.  The course will also discuss innovative techniques and instruments for managing  corporate financial risk.  Prerequisite: Finance Theory and Practice.
