U.S. News & World Report Ranks SMU Cox MBA Programs Among the Nation’s Best Professional MBA is the Only School in the Southwest Named in the Top 10
DALLAS (SMU) – U.S. News & World Report released today its 2007 “America's Best Graduate Schools” guidebook. SMU Cox School of Business is pleased to have increased its standing in all of its rankings, rising to #10 for its Professional MBA (PMBA) program, #14 for its Executive MBA (EMBA) program, and #41 for the full-time MBA program.
The Cox full-time MBA program rose an impressive 13 slots to #41 which was the largest upward move of any other school ranked.
The PMBA program moved up two positions, to #10 this year up from #12, making the Cox School the only program in Texas and the southwest named in the top 10. The EMBA program ranked #14 up from #15, in good company with elite schools such as Columbia, Kellogg, Wharton, University of Chicago, and Stern at New York University.
This announcement follows Cox’s recent selection by Forbes as one of the top 10 schools in the nation for return on investment, based on our PMBA graduates’ compensation five years after graduation. Cox was the only school in Texas and the South on the list. Also last fall, the Cox MBA program received international recognition by The Economist as the #1 U.S. school in the world for “Potential to Network.”
"While these rankings support the prestige of our programs in addition to our strong connections with the business community, we realize there is an ongoing proliferation of media rankings of business schools," said Albert W. Niemi, Jr., dean of the Cox School of Business. "We celebrate our good news, but we also acknowledge the limitations and ever-changing variables measured by the rankings."
Despite the inevitable rise and fall within the many rankings, the Cox School continues to place the greatest emphasis on the quality of its students, world-class faculty, and strong alumni base. Located in one of the world’s best cities for business, Cox students enjoy the school’s internationally renowned professional network.
The Cox School has a long history of offering innovation that is continuously one-step ahead of the changing business environment, allowing students to stay on the leading-edge of business and providing them with unparalleled opportunities to succeed.
