SMU COX ANNOUNCES NEW
MASTER’S PROGRAM IN MANAGEMENT (MSM)

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU’s Cox School of Business is pleased to offer a new Master of Science in Management (MSM) program, and will enroll its first MSM class in fall 2006.

The MSM curriculum is designed to provide a basic understanding of business, along with the budgeting, management, marketing, financial, and strategic planning tools that are critical in today’s competitive landscape. The 10-1/2 month, 30-credit-hour degree plan accommodates the schedules of working professionals with courses in the evening and on weekends.

“We expect this program to attract young, high-potential professionals who realize that to advance their careers they need exposure to core business content,” said Albert W. Niemi, Jr., Dean of the Cox School. “We believe it will be attractive to a wide range of prospective students, from English and history majors to individuals with focused careers in such industries as telecommunications, aerospace and defense, healthcare, and IT services.”

In addition to providing the fundamental language and tools of business, the Cox MSM program offers students the opportunity to learn from a renowned business faculty, polish their leadership and communication skills, develop a mentoring relationship with a seasoned executive, and establish professional contacts through the school’s global alumni network.

Delivering the MSM program supports the Cox School’s mission to serve the evolving educational needs of employers and a wide range of individuals, from undergraduates to working professionals and executives.
