FORTUNE Magazine Editor Geoff Colvin Speaks at the SMU Cox Bank of Texas Business Leaders Spotlight Series


Dallas, Texas (SMU) – The SMU Cox School of Business and Bank of Texas Business Leaders Spotlight Series welcome Geoff Colvin, senior editor-at-large of FORTUNE magazine, on Monday, April 10, at SMU in the Crum Auditorium of the James M. Collins Executive Education Center. Following a 5:00 p.m. reception, the presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Geoff Colvin serves as senior editor-at-large and columnist for FORTUNE magazine, and has written hundreds of articles on significant business trends and topics such as leadership, management, the shareholder value imperative, corporate governance, and the infotech revolution.

Since joining FORTUNE magazine in 1978, Colvin has served as moderator to many of FORTUNE’s conferences, including the FORTUNE Global Forum. He also co-hosts “Wall $treet Week with FORTUNE” on PBS, which reaches the largest television audience of any business program in America. Colvin has interviewed business legends such as Bill Gates, Donald Trump, and Jack Welch, and served on the National Association of Corporate Directors’ Blue Ribbon Commission on CEO Pay, contributing to changes in compensation policy for hundreds of corporations. In addition, Colvin has presented at several corporate gatherings across the United States and the United Kingdom on corporate governance and shareholder value, and served as an advisor to Japan’s Ministry of Finance on these issues.

Colvin broadcasts daily on the CBS Radio Network, attracting over 7 million listeners each week and has made appearances on “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” CNN, ABC’s “World News Tonight,” and dozens of other programs. The magazine editor and columnist has also coauthored “Angel Customers and Demon Customers: Discover Which is Which and Turbo-Charge Your Stock” and “Killer Customers: Tell the Good from the Bad and Crush Your Competitors.” A cum laude graduate from Harvard University with a BA in Economics, Colvin later received his MBA from New York University’s Stern School.
