SMU Cox Celebrates 18th Anniversary of One-of-a-Kind Graduate Marketing Certificate Program
Dallas (SMU) — The SMU Cox School of Business’ Graduate Marketing Certificate Program (GMCP) proudly celebrates its 18th birthday this year. Unique to the DFW Metroplex, this one-of-a-kind program was designed for people interested in increasing their marketing skills and gaining exposure to the latest marketing advances and trends.
Throughout the last 18 years, the GMCP has provided professionals with the marketing tools necessary to increase their effectiveness in the workplace and advance their careers in an ever-changing business world. Program participants have come from some of the area’s leading companies, including American Airlines, CBS, Ebby Halliday Realtors, Hunt Oil, JCPenney, Texas Instruments, The Dallas Morning News, and The Richards Group, and many.
Classes are taught through a combination of methods, including the use of an MBA-level marketing textbook, case studies, team projects, and classroom discussions. The program draws upon the best of the Cox faculty and community business leaders to instruct GMCP courses.
Arvis Miller, a graduate of the GMCP and an employee at the Sewell Motor Company, said, “The GMCP is a well thought out program. It instructs the novice and enlightens the executive. The GMCP also emulates MBA studies and current world issues. It is a must for anyone who wants to be on the forefront!”
Participants can take three course capsules over three consecutive trimesters. The course capsules consist of seven sessions held each trimester, meeting on Monday evenings from 6:30-9:20 p.m. Classes for the upcoming program start on September 11, 2006
