HISPANIC Trends Ranks SMU Cox One of the Nation's Top 25 MBA Programs for Hispanics
Dallas (SMU) – SMU Cox School of Business is delighted to announce its debut in HISPANIC Trends’ annual listing of the Top 25 Programs for Hispanic MBAs.
In compiling its list, HISPANIC Trends researched the most prestigious schools in the country, examining how they reach out to minorities with scholarships, fellowships, mentoring and student associations.
HISPANIC Trends cited many of the enrichment programs and activities at SMU Cox that allow students to connect with the city’s leading companies and learn valuable lessons from experienced business leaders.
“ As our world becomes more diverse, it is important for MBAs to be able to work with, lead, and tap into multiple societies and cultures,” said Albert W. Niemi, Jr., dean of the Cox School. “Enhancing the diversity of the MBA program increases the ability of every Cox graduate to excel wherever they do business in the world as a result of their classmates, professors, and experiences outside the classroom.”
HISPANIC Trends commends SMU Cox for awarding more than $250,000 in minority scholarships last year and cites courses tailored to Hispanic marketing and cultural trends, along with efforts to recruit Hispanic faculty. Together with the Dallas-Fort Worth National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA), the Cox School of Business offers free GMAT prep courses for minority applicants. “ We’re pleased that Cox’s efforts to diversify the business community have been recognized, and we look forward to creating and offering additional opportunities for minorities to excel,” said Steve Denson, Director of Diversity at SMU Cox.
SMU's Cox School of Business offers a full range of business education programs, from BBA and full-time MBA to Professional MBA (PMBA), Executive MBA (EMBA), and Executive Education. Cox is ranked among the top business schools nationally and internationally by major publications including BusinessWeek, Economist, Financial Times, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and U.S. News & World Report. In addition, the school's Business Leadership Center (BLC), Caruth Institute of Owner-Managed Business, American Airlines Global Leadership Program (GLP), and Associate Board executive mentoring program are recognized nationally and internationally.
