SMU’s Cox School Only Texas MBA Program In All Rankings
DALLAS, Texas (SMU) – With today’s release by The Economist of its ranking of graduate business schools worldwide, SMU’s Cox School of Business becomes the only school in Texas and one of only 27 in the United States to appear in rankings released by the six major publications that rank graduate business programs. In addition to The Economist, SMU Cox has received recognition in current rankings published by Business Week, Financial Times, Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, and The Wall Street Journal.
In recent years, the Cox School of Business has increased in graduate business rankings across the board in each category: Full-time MBA, Executive MBA, and Executive and Management Development programs. In The Economist’s global ranking of full-time MBA programs, SMU Cox was 34th among U.S. business schools and 56th globally. In other rankings of full-time MBA programs in the U.S., SMU Cox placed among the top 50 in Business Week rankings released Oct. 11, 2002; and 17th in Forbes; 26th in The Wall Street Journal; 31st in Financial Times; and 34th in U.S. News & World Report. Business professionals rely upon rankings to help differentiate competitive graduate business institutions.
“The publications that rank business schools use various methodologies. It is rewarding to be one of a small number of schools that is on everyone’s list. This speaks to the quality of our faculty and students and the accomplishments of our graduates,” said Al Niemi, Dean of the Cox School of Business.
In addition to the success of the full-time MBA program, SMU Cox continues to be recognized for providing education to working business professionals and executives. In its newest rankings announced today, Financial Times placed the Cox School’s Executive MBA program in the top 20 national programs, ranking 31st globally.
Other nationally and internationally recognized programs include SMU Cox’s Business Leadership Center (BLC), Caruth Institute of Owner-Managed Business, American Airlines Global Leadership Program (GLP), and Associate Board executive mentoring program.
