Ernst & Young Management Briefing Series Presents Mark A. Weinberger Assistant Secretary of U.S. Department of the Treasury

Mark A. Weinberger, Assistant Secretary (Tax Policy) for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, will be the guest speaker for the October program. As the highest ranking United States tax official, Weinberger is responsible for providing the Department with economic and legal policy analysis and recommendations with regard to all aspects of domestic and international issues of Federal taxation. Prior to his appointment as assistant secretary, Weinberger was a partner with Ernst & Young LLP where he was director of the firm's National Tax Department, responsible for developing technical, legislative, and regulatory guidance and solutions for the firm's tax practice. He was also co-founder and principal of Washington Counsel, PC, a law firm based in Washington, DC. Appointed by President Clinton, Weinberger served on the Social Security Advisory Board, which advises the President, the Congress, and the Social Security Commissioner on all aspects of the program.
