Donald Carty, Chairman, President, and CEO of American Airlines. Donald Carty, the keynote luncheon speaker, will present "Global Leadership: Balancing Integration and Autonomy In The 21st Century." This half-day symposium is for Cox students, faculty, and interested members of the business community. 

 

The centerpiece of this symposium will be a series of research reports prepared by Cox MBA students. The entire first-year MBA class will have just completed an intensive two-week tour of Asia, Europe, and South America. With the support of American Airlines, the students flew in three groups to meet with executives from over 40 global corporations in Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Taipei, London, Paris, Munich, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and Santiago.

All three groups had similar schedules that typically included visits to two or three companies per day. (A complete list of participating corporations and institutions is attached with this release.) No other business school has ever offered an intensive three-week global program including two weeks of international travel to an entire MBA class. There is no charge to students for participation in this mandatory program.
