DALLAS, Texas (SMU) - The Cox School of Business and the Caruth Institute for Owner-Managed Business at SMU in partnership with the CEO Institute is currently seeking nominations and applications for the 11th Annual Dallas 100 Awards Competition. Application and nomination forms may be obtained by calling the Caruth Institute at 214-768-3326. These awards recognize the fastest-growing private companies in the North Texas area. Award winners will be chosen solely on increased growth in sales, giving weight to percentage of growth and absolute dollar growth between 1998 and 2000. The deadline for entries is September 1, 2001.

Businesses must be located in the Dallas area, have had sales of over $500,000 and not more than $50 million in fiscal year 1998, and have a three-year sales history with an increase in fiscal 2000. A business may self-nominate or be nominated by an individual not associated with the business.

Past recipients have included such well-known and successful businesses as Cadence McShane Corporation, OnRamp Technologies, CapRock Communications Corp., Monitronics International, Inc., Universal Sports America, Inc., Pavestone Company L.P., Texas Land & Cattle Steak House, and last year's winner R.K. Investments, Inc.

"In today's post dot.com world, exciting companies are bucking the trend and building fantastic enterprises of every type, including technology and non-technology," said Jerry White, director of the Caruth Institute.

Winners will receive their awards at a ceremony and banquet Wednesday evening, November 7, at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.
