"Tee Off for High-Tech" at SMU/Cox Golf Tournament April 30
Golfers have the opportunity not only to compete for prizes at one of the metroplex's top golf courses, but also to benefit SMU's Cox School of Business' new Technology Fund.
The SMU/Cox invitational golf tournament sponsored by AT Kearney will be Monday, April 30, at Gleneagles Country Club, 5401 W Park Blvd., in Plano. Proceeds from the tournament will support Cox's programs to ensure development of students with technical knowledge coupled with strong business skills to meet the demands of the technology community of North Texas.
Individual golfers may register to participate for $250 each. Supporters attending the post-tournament awards reception may do so for $50 each. Additional sponsorships ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 are available. Deadline for registration is Thursday, April 26.The event begins with noon lunch and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Prizes and drawings will be awarded following the tournament.
"The Cox School of Business has an opportunity to strengthen its position as a dominant player in the e-commerce and telecommunications education arena," said Cox School of Business Dean Al Niemi. "Our Cox Alumni Council members in Dallas and Fort Worth chose this golf tournament fundraiser believing in the community's support for a virtual technology think tank in the Dallas area, attracting talent from all over the world and introducing the latest technologies and products through local channels, thus firmly establishing Dallas as the premier high tech community."
