COLLINS ECONOMIC FORUM BEGINS 1999/2000 SEASON WITH WILLIAM BENNETT FORMER SECRETARY OF EDUCATION AND AUTHOR
WHO: William Bennett, former Secretary of Education, president of Empower America, author, educator, and prominent member of two Presidential administrations, will launch the 1999/2000 Collins Economic Forum. Dr. Bennett is one of the most respected voices in America’s current debate about social and cultural matters. He served as director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy for President George Bush and as Secretary of Education and Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities for President Ronald Reagan. His most recent works include the best-seller, The Book of Virtues, and The Index of Leading Cultural Indicators.
WHAT: The Collins Economic Forum was established with the Cox School to inform business leaders on current affairs and economic policies that promote free enterprise. The forum is underwritten by the Collins Family Foundation and the Today Foundation. Both organizations are dedicated to educating society on the necessity of a growing, sound economy to perpetuate opportunity, freedom, and a rising standard of living for all.
