MAGUIRE ENERGY INSTITUTE PRESENTS "THE ENERGY INDUSTRY IN THE NEXT MILLENNIUM"CONFERENCE
The Maguire Energy Institute will present its 1999 Energy Trends Conference, "The Energy Industry in the Next Millennium," on Thursday, November 4 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Westin Park Central Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
History will record the 20th Century as the beginning of the energy age, and in the next century, the industry will be faced with a number of challenging issues. "The Energy Industry in the Next Millennium" will offer answers to these and other questions:
  • How will the international political scene alter the energy landscape?
  • Does the threat of global warming spell the end of the era of fossil fuels?
  • Will oil, gas, and electricity companies merge to form giant energy conglomerates?
The conference is composed of four sessions covering the following topics:
  • Economic, Political and Environmental Trends
  • Challenges Facing the Petroleum Industry
  • A New World for Electricity and Natural Gas
  • Gazing into the Crystal Ball – a panel discussion on industry changes in the next hundred years.
Mr. David Biegler, President and COO of TXU, will give the keynote address. A partial list of conference presenters include:
