Cox School of Business Announces Lifetime Awards at Inaugural Real Estate Society Meeting
WHAT: Organized by distinguished professor of real estate, William Brueggeman, and Cox alumnus, lecturer, and real estate consultant, Chuck Dannis, the goal of the SMU Real Estate Society is to promote an ongoing relationship between the real estate business community and SMU.
Eight leaders in the metroplex real estate community will be recognized by the society. Mary Frances Burleson, Leo Corrigan, Jr., Frank Crossen, Trammell Crow, Robert H. Dedman, Sr., Robert S. Folsom, Ray Hunt, and Henry S. Miller, Jr. will receive plaques in recognition for their contributions to the real estate community and will be granted lifetime membership.
HOW: The SMU Real Estate Society will seek to promote Cox’s Center for Research in Real Estate and Land Use Economics, the Finance Institute, the Business Leadership Center, and the Executive and Management Development Program in the real estate community.
The group also will focus on creating mentoring relationships between the real estate business community and current and prospective real estate majors and provide a networking forum for members and the real estate community at-large. The group hopes to sponsor one or two educational conferences each year at the Cox School and provide direct avenues for Cox real estate/finance majors to meet with potential employers.
WHEN: Wednesday, November 17, 1999; 5:00 – 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Arthur Andersen Gallery, The Fincher Building, Cox School of Business, SMU
HOW: This event is open to any SMU alumnus. For information about membership or this event, please contact Chuck Dannis at 214-739-3388 Ext. 102 or e-mail at
