COX SCHOOL PRESENTS ERNST & YOUNG/SPRINT MANAGEMENT BRIEFING SERIES AZURIX CEO FOCUSES ON GLOBAL WATER ISSUES

WHO: Water management is one of the future’s most pressing issues, the effects of which promise to influence the future of global politics as well as commerce.

Rebecca Mark, chairman and CEO of Azurix (NYSE: AZX), focuses on the business of developing and managing water resources. Azurix was formed by Enron, the $40-billion global energy company, in 1998. Azurix Corp. is a global water company engaged in the business of acquiring, owning, operating, and managing water and wastewater assets; providing water and wastewater related services; and developing and managing water resources.

Mark will discuss her transition from playing a major leadership role at Enron to the top position at Azurix. She will also discuss the company’s goals as a major player in water resource management.

Mark started with the Enron in 1982 and joined Enron Power Corporation’s executive management team in 1986. She was appointed chairman of Enron Development Corporation in 1991 when the unit was formed to pursue new international markets. Mark was named chairman and CEO of Enron International in 1996. She was named vice chairman and joined the Office of the Chairman of Enron Corporation in 1998. Upon the completion of Azurix’s initial public offering in 1999, she relinquished her management responsibilities with Enron and was appointed CEO & chairman of Azurix.

Through her various positions at Enron, Mark was instrumental in globalizing Enron from a U.S. energy services and pipeline company to a major player in integrated energy businesses around the world. Mark received her MBA with distinction from Harvard University.
