THE BANK OF TEXAS BUSINESS LEADERS SPOTLIGHT SERIES PRESENTS KIMBERLY-CLARK CHAIRMAN AND CEO WAYNE SANDERS
WHO: Wayne Sanders, CEO of the world’s leading maker of tissue products including such famous trademarks as Kleenex, Huggies, Scott, and Kotex, is the first speaker in the Cox School’s 1999 Bank of Texas Business Leaders Spotlight Series. Sanders has led Kimberly-Clark, one of the world’s 400 largest companies, since 1992.
In March, Kimberly-Clark made headline news with first-quarter earnings surging 41% and surpassing Wall Street estimates. The company had suffered from the effects of slumping foreign economies. The turnaround is attributed to Sanders’ effective cost-cutting measure and strong sales across product lines.
Sanders is a trustee of Marquette University and a national trustee of the Boys and Girls Club of America. He is a member of the board of directors of Texas Instruments and the Adolf Coors Company and its principal subsidiary, Coors Brewing Company. He also is an advisory director of Chase Bank of Texas and a member of the Economic Development Task Force of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce.
