STORMY BYORUM, MANAGING PARTNER & CO-FOUNDER VIOLY, BYORUM & PARTNERS
Who: Stormy Byorum is managing partner and co-founder of Violy, Byorum & Partners. Under her guidance, the firm has risen to be ranked among the Top 10 Latin American Merger & Acquisition companies. Violy, Byorum & Partners is a strategic advisory and investment banking firm founded in 1996. With a focus on Latin America, VB&P has been instrumental in many intricate transactions in that region totaling more than $6.5 billion. Latin Finance has recognized VB&P’s phenomenal success with awards like the "Deal of the Year." Among the firm’s most notable transactions are the Venezuelan Cisneros Bottling Group’s change from Pepsi to Coca-Cola, and the merger of Cementos Samper and Diamante to form Cemex, the largest merger in the history of Columbia. Prior to co-founding VB&P, Byorum had a 24-year career with Citicorp. She became Chief of Staff for the company’s Latin American Banking Group and later Managing Director for Citibank in 1994. Byorum earned a BBA from Cox in 1970 and an MBA from Wharton in 1972.
