FASTEST-GROWING PRIVATE COMPANIES IN NORTH TEXAS AREA SOUGHT FOR 10TH ANNUAL DALLAS 100 AWARDS
The Cox School of Business and the Caruth Institute for Owner-Managed Business at SMU in partnership with the CEO Institute is currently seeking nominations and applications for the 10th Annual Dallas 100 Awards Competition. Application and nomination forms may be obtained by calling Patricia Kriska at the Caruth Institute at 214-768-3326 or by accessing the Dallas 100 website at www.cox.smu.edu/Dallas100 .
Businesses must be located in the North Texas area, have had sales of at least $500,000 and not more than $50,000,000 in fiscal year 1997, and have a three-year sales history with an increase in fiscal 1999. A business may self-nominate or be nominated by an individual not associated with the business.
These awards recognize the fastest-growing private companies in the North Texas area. Award winners will be selected based on increased growth in sales, giving weight to percentage of growth and absolute dollar growth between 1997 and 1999. The deadline for entries is August 31, 2000.
Past recipients have included such well-known and successful businesses as OnRamp Technologies, CapRock Communications Corp., Monitronics International, Inc., Universal Sports America, Inc., Pavestone Company L.P., Texas Land & Cattle Steak House, and last year’s winner, Cadence McShane Corporation. "These companies and the many winners from previous years have made significant contributions to the North Texas area by generating thousands of new jobs, increasing the tax base, and fostering the area’s reputation as a premier economic development center," said Jerry White, director of the Caruth Institute.
Winners will receive their awards at a dinner on Wednesday evening, November 1st, at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. The special guest speaker will be Alfred R. Berkeley III, president of Nasdaq Stock Market.
Prior to the awards event, a special CEO networking reception for award winners only will be held on Thursday, October 5th, at the Cox School of Business. The special guest speaker for the reception will be Gary Fernandes, CEO of Grocery Works.
