COX’S MAGUIRE ENERGY INSTITUTE PRESENTS BUILDING THE ENERGY E-COMMERCE COMPANY
The Cox School of Business’ Maguire Energy Institute will conduct its third information technology conference titled "Building the Energy E-Commerce Company." The conference, co-sponsored by EDS and Ernst & Young will bring together experts to discuss the latest trends in the effective use of information technology to improve performance and gain competitive advantage in the energy industry.
Date: March 23, 2000
Time: 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Place: Hyatt Regency Hotel, Houston, Texas
The program will begin with breakfast speaker Tom Yacko, Partner, Energy & Chemicals eCommerce, Ernst & Young, who will explain how energy companies are transforming themselves into "e-Energy Companies."
The conference will feature a luncheon presentation by Douglas F. Aldrich, Managing Director of A.T. Kearney and author of Mastering the Digital Marketplace: Practical Strategies for Competitiveness in the New Economy.
The program will include presentations by Stephen Martin, CEO of Network Oil; Rogelio Salges, President of EZPetro; Jim Bowles, President of the Phillips Petroleums’s Americas Division; and Larry Denver, Vice President and General Manager of Schlumberger’s Reservoir Products.
The conference will conclude with a panel discussion with Grace Martinez, Executive Vice President, El Paso Energy Corporation; Dennis G. McLaughlin, President of Aurion Technologies; Robert Peebler, President and CEO of Landmark Graphics; and John Reynolds, Senior Partner, Lime Rock.
The Maguire Energy Institute, formerly the Maguire Oil & Gas Institute, promotes the study of policy, marketing, and management issues related to oil, natural gas and electricity. The Institute conducts seminars and training programs focusing on the business, economic, and managerial aspects of the energy industry; hosts conferences to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information among educators, practitioners, media, and government officials; and provides material for students and teachers to foster a better understanding of the role of the energy industry in the world economy.
